Whoa.  When I first got here, I had to check the URL to make sure I went to the right place.  But, it looks all cool and stuff.  Thanks, Chasa - you do all this extra work, keeping up our meeting place.  It is greatly appreciated!   hug

About 10 minutes.  Just now.

The board wouldn't load, after my last post, and I kept trying and trying to check and see if I needed to re-post, is the only reason I know.   biggrin

It's not like I obsessively check for updates even after everyone who mostly just posts while at work has gone home, for the day, or anything.

The server stopped responding for some reason and they had to powercycle it -- thus the downtime.  It's been a while since we had a really significant outage...I wouldn't call an hour "really significant," but this had better not jinx the good run!

Today's downtime was due to the server's power supply going bad...now is replaced and though everything is a bit sluggish right now, it should gradually return to normal.

Dunno what the issue was, but the server was sluggish all morning and then stopped responding entirely.  I submitted a ticket, they said they were working on it and it seems to be OK now.  For the moment Wink

I posted a thing on my LJ when we were down due to a server migration last week.  That's done and everything seems to be fine, but I just wanted to post a note to make sure everyone knows that you can adjust the forum time display via your profile.  The new datacenter is in Texas, so our server base time has moved from eastern to central.

And we're back, after a server outage that lasted all afternoon (noticed some downtime last night as well)!  They had to replace a failing disk drive, I think.

Passing along a service notice I received from the hosting company about tonight:

Quote
Tonight between the times of 10pm Central Time Zone to 3am Central Time Zone we will be performing maintenance on your server that will result in downtime for a period of 90 to 120 minutes. We are upgrading the server from Apache 1 to 2 that will result in performance improvements.

Just FYI:  it's not you, it's the server Wink  There have been a few periods of downtime recently.  All of the ones I noticed were relatively brief.  The one just ended (or hopefully just ended) was due to an emergency server reboot.
